Ukrainian native Alexei Vasilyevich Petrenko (b.
March 26, 1938) has amassed a varied gallery of character and leading roles on Russian stage and screen including the titular “mad monk” in Elem Klimov’s 1981 “Rasputin”, Josef Stalin in BBC II’s docudrama “World War II: Behind Closed Doors”, and General Radlov in Nikita Mikhalkov’s “The Barber of Siberia”..
