Tawfiq Al-Hakim (1898-1987) was an Egyptian writer and literary figure, widely regarded as one of the greatest icons of Arabic literature in the 20th century.

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, he was one of the pioneers who blended Western theatrical art with Arab themes, laying the foundation for modern Egyptian theater.
